The Desi Light Pink Cosmos is a native-style heirloom variety celebrated for its intense resilience and vibrant, warm-toned pink blooms. Unlike common garden varieties, this Desi type is specifically adapted to thrive in varied climates with very little intervention. The plant produces striking flowers with a golden-yellow center, set against robust, deeply-lobed foliage. This fast-growing variety is highly prized for its ability to attract beneficial pollinators and its prolific blooming habit, making it an excellent choice for adding reliable, long-lasting color to meadows, borders, and traditional home gardens.
It is widely recognized across different cultures as Sharada (Sanskrit: शारदा), Gul-e-ashrafi (Hindi: गुल-ए-अशरफी), Cosmos Puvvu (Telugu: కాస్మోస్ పువ్వు), Cosmos Poo (Tamil: காஸ்மோஸ் பூ), Cosmos Poovu (Malayalam: കോസ്മോസ് പൂവ്), and Cosmos Huva (Kannada: ಕಾಸ್ಮೋಸ್ ಹೂವು). In English, it is commonly called Pink Cosmos, or simply the Desi Cosmos.

Soil: Well-draining, sandy or loamy soil; prefers poor to average soil as overly rich soil can lead to more foliage and fewer flowers

Watering: Low to moderate; keep soil moist during germination, but once established, it is very drought-tolerant
