Black Krim Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is a prized Russian heirloom variety from the Crimea, producing large, flattened, deep crimson to purplish-black fruits with exceptionally rich, complex, smoky-sweet flavour. Considered by many tomato connoisseurs to be among the finest-tasting tomatoes in the world. Known as Kala Tamatar (Hindi: काला टमाटर), this rare heirloom is a must-grow for serious kitchen gardeners. The dark colour comes from high anthocyanin content — making Black Krim one of the most antioxidant-rich tomato varieties. Its intense flavour is extraordinary eaten fresh or slow-roasted. A collector's variety.
