Cherry Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme) produces clusters of small, round, bite-sized fruits that are intensely sweet and flavourful — much more so than large tomatoes. They ripen from green to red (or yellow/orange in some varieties) and are excellent eaten fresh, in salads, roasted, or used as a garnish. Known as Chota Tamatar (Hindi: छोटा टमाटर), Chinna Tamata (Telugu: చిన్న టమాటా), Siru Thakkaali (Tamil: சிறு தக்காளி), Kutti Thakkaali (Malayalam: കുട്ടി തക്കാളി), Sanna Tomato (Kannada: ಸಣ್ಣ ಟೊಮ್ಯಾಟೊ). Extremely productive — one plant can produce hundreds of fruits in a season. An ideal container tomato for balcony gardens.
