Indian Poppy Mix (Papaver somniferum) produces large, silky, tissue-papery flowers in a gorgeous mix of colours — white, pink, red, purple, and lilac — often fully double or peony-flowered. The Opium Poppy is one of India's most ancient garden flowers, grown since antiquity for its spectacular blooms and decorative seed pods. Known as Posta (Hindi: पोस्ता), Gasagasalu (Telugu: గసగసాలు), Kaskasu (Tamil: கஸ்கஸ்), Gasagase (Kannada: ಗಸಗಸೆ). Large, fully double forms are especially prized for their peony-like beauty. The ornamental seed pods are also used in dried flower arrangements. Sow directly in cool weather.
