Cress / Common Cress (Lepidium sativum) is a fast-growing salad green with a sharp, peppery, mustard-like flavour. One of the quickest crops to grow from seed — ready to harvest in just 10–14 days — cress is ideal for growing on windowsills, in small containers, and as a microgreen or sprouting seed. Known as Chandrashur (Hindi: चन्द्रशूर), and celebrated worldwide as a superfood microgreen. Rich in Vitamin C and iron, cress has been used medicinally for centuries. An excellent introductory crop for children and first-time gardeners — sow on damp cotton wool and watch it grow.
